We blew past our $400,000 GOAL !!

We worked a long time for this chance—and now we’ve made good on it: We bought an ideal site for an Amherst community garden and playground. The owners, Sue and Scott Adams, sold 3.9 acres in Amherst Village—at $45,000 under the appraised value.

We needed to raise $400,000 to cover the $150,000 purchase price plus $250,000 for transaction costs, site work, and playground equipment. We raised nearly $450,000 in cash and in-kind donations from hundreds of members of our community, including a leadership pledge by the family of Joshua Savyon, in memory Joshua. Our buy-a-brick campaign raised over $43,000.

We deeply appreciate the time, energy, and generosity of a cadre of committed people— donors and volunteers passionate about creating a unique community park—for helping raise the funds needed.

Thank you again for being part of this living legacy for our children, fellow citizens, and community.
